PIA have volunteered in the community for 10 years with great pride and welcome you to join us. PIA offers  it's signature health literacy workshop free to the public at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, DC the 4th Tuesday of each month.

We are in dire need of a volunteer database designer and a pro-bono grant writer

other opennings are available

Nonprofit and voluntary organizations, individuals, and society as a whole benefit from the activities of volunteers. Volunteers themselves also benefit from their volunteer activities, according to the 2000 National Survey of Giving, Volunteering and Participating (NSGVP).

It is our goal for 2010 to secure funding to employ additional staff and develop several population specific Outreach Teams to serve more people in the District of Columbia and surrounding areas. We are willing to work with, universities, local and national organizations to establish a comprehensive outreach model to close the digital divide and enhance health literacy for the disenfranchised as we as a nation traverse the twenty-first century--join us.
