 Participants' Testimonials

  • Gail: "I had never touched a computer before
taking the PIA health literacy workshop, now I am teaching others to use computers, entering data for PIA, developing PowerPoint presentation and managing the organization's community outreach projects. This has truly been a life altering experience for me"

  • Habeba: "Before taking the PIA training workshop, I had no focus or direction in life. After completing the training an urge stirred inside me. I accepted employment with PIA and expanded many technical and teaching skills. The urge to teach what I have been taught in the PIA training began and has continued growing. While working with PIA I was given the ability to affect change in other peoples lives as a peer health counselor. The training, not only increased my ability to relay health information, but made me proactive in dealing with my own health questions and concerns, thus giving my life more

          meaning."
